Materials Science

Materials science involves applications from a number of scientific disciplines that contribute to the creation of materials with specific properties for specific uses. For example, advances in materials science have led to new biodegradable materials, indefinitely recyclable plastics, and more efficient batteries.

Many of Insigne’s lawyers have undergraduate and advanced degrees in fields relevant to materials science, including materials engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, and physics, and have worked in the industry in these fields. This knowledge of materials assists our intellectual property lawyers in understanding our client’s intellectual property procurement or monetization strategy, as well as litigation matters.

Our lawyers have recently advised clients in materials science related innovation in areas of semiconductor fabrication, recording media, biomedical materials, optical fibers, nanocomposite materials, graphene films, dip-molded rubber articles, and petroleum refining, among others.
